How we build your dream home

Connect

We build relationships first. By getting to know each other before we turn on any power tools, we lay the foundation for a successful project.

  • Answer a few questions

    Take five minutes to tell us about your project. After you answer our questions, we’ll reach out to schedule a virtual consultation.

  • Virtual consultation

    We’ll hop on a video call to review your answers and talk about your home vision. If your project and timeline are a good fit for us, we’ll schedule a visit. If we are not able to take your project on at this time, we’ll discuss referral options.

  • On-site visit

    By visiting your home, we get a better sense of who you are and your long-term home goals.
    During our time together, we’ll cover what to expect in even more detail. From common project pain points and solutions to general timelines, we’ll talk about everything so you have a clear idea of what comes next.

  • Get an estimate

    After visiting your home, we’ll schedule a video call to go over a general project estimate that’s based on all that we’ve learned so far. Together, we’ll go over every line item and discuss the range of costs. (Like the price difference for custom or stock kitchen cabinets.) After our meeting, we’ll send over a pre-construction contract.

Plan

Pre-construction is the most important (and underrated) part of the process. While other contractors might fly through this phase or skip it altogether, we drill down into every detail so that we can make the best plan for your long-term dreams.

  • Sign a pre-construction agreement

    Before we can put our full resources into project planning, we need to know you’re on board. When you sign the pre-construction agreement, we ask for a small flat rate fee that goes toward the total project cost. This allows us to get all the right people on-site and conduct a full feasibility study of your project.

  • Get on the app

    We use the Buildertrend app to streamline communications and decision-making. Our team will show you how to create an account and get started using the platform. Here you can find the project schedule and any pre-construction to-dos we might need from you.  

  • On-site visits & planning

    This is where we really get to know each other. We’ll come to your home at least three times, as we move through project planning, review, and finalization. During these on-site visits, you’ll have a chance to meet subcontractors and hear their perspectives. With their expert input on your home, we’ll review the plan and scope. We’ll also ask you a lot of questions that can help us reduce complications when we start building.

    Digging in during pre-construction helps us with value engineering, AKA ways to create savings and make sure your home meets all of your goals — not just today but into the future. Finally, we’ll introduce you to your Project Manager and they’ll start scheduling subcontractors.

  • Receive final project scope

    Now that we've taken the time to really get to know your family, how you make decisions, and the shape of your dream home, we’re ready to present our plan. Your sample construction contract will include the final scope, budget, and schedule.

Build

It’s what you’ve been waiting for — time to break ground. During the construction phase, we keep you in the loop with daily, in-app progress logs and weekly check-ins with the team. When the unexpected happens, we handle it.

  • Sign contract & break ground

    Once you’re happy with every detail of the plan, we’re ready to move forward. At the time of contract signing, we ask for a deposit to get started. Then, we’re officially ready to turn on the power tools and get to business.

  • Weekly meetings & updates

    We keep you updated every step of the way. In Buildertrend, you’ll see a daily log of progress, photo and video updates, and any changes to the schedule. You’ll also have a weekly meeting with your Project Manager to go over progress in more detail.

  • Your choice on changes

    When the unexpected does happen, we’ll come to you with solutions first. All change orders are managed through the Buildertrend app, so you’ll know exactly how any decisions impact your project schedule and cost. You’ll always have knowledge of, and a say on, what’s happening in your home.

Preserve

When every detail of your dream home is complete, we don’t disappear. We want to make sure the finished project doesn’t just meet, but exceeds, your every expectation.

  • Final walk through

    Together, we’ll walk through your home, recap choices, and answer any questions you may have. We’ll also talk about ways to protect your investment and how to get support if any issues arise.

  • Project photos & review

    Let’s show off your dream home. With your permission, we’ll schedule a time for professional photos. We may also ask for a review or interview to get feedback on the project and any ways we could make the process even dreamier in the future.

  • One-year warranty 

    All of our projects are covered by a one-year warranty. That means if there’s a problem, we’ll show up. At exactly the one-year mark we complete a warranty walkthrough to check on our work and discuss opportunities to add any additional services or inspections in the future. You never have to miss us, though! We’ll be in your inbox with maintenance tips and updates as long as you want to hear from us.
